How We Met

Keven and Heather met at WeFest. Keven and his friend, Rod were tired of having so many "old" people camping around them so when they saw Kristi and Heather pull into the campground they came over to their car and asked if they would like to camp by them "since the campground was already so full". We took them up on their offer. Keven was so nice all weekend that Heather told him he should give her a call to go to lunch sometime. They went on a few lunch dates over the next year and slowly started to fall for each other. The following year at WeFest they started dating. This WeFest we will be going as an engaged couple about ready to be married!

Engaged:  December 24, 2003 How It Happened

Keven and Heather were alone on Christmas Eve. He had told her that her Christmas present was going to be a trip to Cancun earlier so she didn't expect to get anything. A couple of times he said he felt bad to see the presents she had put under the Christmas tree for him since he didn't have anything to wrap for her but Heather didn't care because she was so excited about the trip they would be going on in a couple of weeks. Keven opened his presents that afternoon while Heather taped it on the camcorder. After he was finished opening them he pulled a box out from behind the tree and gave it to Heather and took over the camcorder. She pulled off the wrapping paper to reveal a credit card terminal box. She opened the box to find tickets to Cancun and the Cherry T Ball. Below that she found a jewelry box. It had beautiful Peridot and diamond earrings. Keven told her to keep looking. She pulled the rest of the tissue paper out and found another jewelry box. She was excited thinking, "Wow! This must be a matching necklace!". But instead of a necklace there was an engagement ring. Keven got down on one knee and asked her to marry him (while still taping her reaction). After crying with joy for a minute she realized she hadn't answered him and all she could do was shake her head yes. It was an incredible day for both of us.
